Jelena Rosich

Jelena Rosich (November 3, 1969 Kikinda, Serbia) is a writer of short stories. She graduated from the University of Novi Sad in English Language and Literature in 1992, and immigrated with her family to the United States in 1998.

Her first book of short stories "Dalilin prsten" was published in 1993 (Matica Srpska, Novi Sad) and her second book of stories "Dan kada je Miz Lili postala ono sto je oduvek bila" (Arhipelag, Beograd 2012) won the award "Stevan Sremac" for the book of the year in Serbian language.

Jelena's work is included in several anthologies of short stories such as "Mala kutija" by Mihajlo Pantic (Jugoslovenska knjiga, Beograd 2001), and "Tajno drustvo" by Vasa Pavkovic (Kov, Vrsac 1997).

She lives with her husband and four children in Mequon, Wisconsin.

Jelena Kovačević is a Serbian American engineering professor, whose research has focused on signal processing and data science. She is the first female dean of the engineering school at New York University.

Kovačević became head of NYU's Tandon School of Engineering in 2018, the first woman to do so in the school's 164-year history. From 2014-2018, she was department head of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. Prior to that, she was a professor of biomedical engineering at Carnegie Mellon, which she joined in 2003. She was also an adjunct professor at Columbia University and worked at Bell Laboratories in New Jersey from 1991-2002.

The book contains prayers commonly used by Orthodox Christians, lists of Scriptural Commandments, and brief articles on the precepts of Faith, proper conduct in church, and the meaning and practice of prayer. It is adorned with striking icons and illustrations by Fr. Stamatis Skliris, a parish priest in Athens who is renowned as an iconographer and as a writer and lecturer on Byzantine iconography. Full-color on coated stock throughout, 36 pages, 3¾" × 5½" format, paperback, saddle-stitched.
