Dimitrije Vasiljević u Karnegi Holu

Dimitrije Vasiljević, nagradjivani pijanista i kompozitor iz Beograda, održace solistički klavirski koncert u čuvenom Karnegi Holu u Njujorku 24. marta u 20h na kom će predstaviti svoje kompozicije kroz koje se provlače motivi Balkana pomešani sa evropskim džezom.

Na koncertu će premijerno biti izvedena i kompozicija „Wardenclyffe” inspirisana i posvećena Nikoli Tesli za koju je u januaru ove godine dobio priznanje Tesla Naučne Fondacije iz Filadelfije za očuvanje lika i dela Nikole Tesle kroz muziku.

Kompozicija „Wardenclyffe” će predstavljati jednu od nosećih numera na Vasiljevićevom novom klavirskom albumu „Metaphor" („Metafora") koji se očekuje sredinom godine.

Vasiljević je po završetku Fakulteta muzičke umetnosti u Beogradu, diplomirao i na prestižnom Berklee College of Music u Bostonu a nedavno je završio i magistarske studije na New York University gde je uporedo radio i kao profesor džeza.

Ruth Stanley Farnam

Ruth Stanley Farnam (September 11, 1873 — December 7, 1956) was an American nurse, soldier and writer. She is the only American woman known to have served as a soldier in the Serbian army during World War I.

Family

Ruth Stanley Farnam was born at Patchogue, New York, the daughter of William Henry Stanley and Ida Jay Overton Stanley. She married Charles Henry Farnam and later, Baron Raymond de Loze.

Founded in 2006 and named in honor of a first American born Orthodox priest, Fr. Sebastian Dabovic, a pioneer of the Orthodox Church in the West, Sebastian Press is one of the largest and most active publishers of Christian Orthodox publications on the West Coast.

Our hard working staff seeks to fruitfully enrich and deepen the faith of Christians from all over the world with a variety of titles, embracing a diversity of Orthodox Traditions, while also presenting the works of Serbian theologians.

Sebastian Press is building its reputation for promoting high quality theological, historical, ecclesiastical, spiritual, hagiographical, iconographical, philosophical and patristic writings in its repertoire. Also, due to growing demand, we are giving special attention to the publishing of new titles for children, teens, and families, including video and audio programs.

The primary mission of Sebastian Press is to motivate and inspire its readers to seek a deeper union with the God-Man, through the written word of Orthodox Christian material, both on the scholarly and popular level, and to give glory to the life-giving Trinity.
