My Story

With 30 years of clinical practice, I offer psychotherapy and consultations for individuals, couples & families. Having lived, worked, and trained both in Belgrade and New York City, I bring my skills and experience as a clinical psychologist, teacher, supervisor, and public speaker. With deep roots in two countries, my professional and personal life has been about moving between multiple languages and cultures.

I treat people with a wide range of difficulties in living. Drawing from my own personal experiences as an immigrant woman, I have developed a particular interest in working with people who are transitioning between cultures. Whether we came to this country by choice or whether the decision was made out of necessity, immigration experiences shape our relationships with others. In my work, I focus on intergenerational relationships, as individuals and families make these life transitions.

I also specialize in complex trauma, issues of domestic violence, as well as child and adult sexual abuse.

Over the years, I have been privileged to study and work in a variety of academic and clinical settings both in New York and internationally. My professional engagements include: work as an adjunct professor at Columbia University, clinical faculty at NYU School of Medicine, alumna of the Ackerman Institute for the Family, board of directors at American Family Therapy Academy (AFTA), University of Belgrade, Tavistock Clinic, University of Sarajevo, International Family Therapy Association (IFTA).
